Man, thanks for posting these old Boy's Life ads they used to have in the back of the magazine. I was telling my son about deceptive advertising and how disappointed I was when I was a kid and ordered the "flying ghost that would obey your command and scare your friends, even dance to music". I thought I'd try to find that old ad on the internet to show my son and there it was! It was really cool to see it all these years later.

I was so excited to get that ghost and when I finally got it, it was just some string, a stupid balloon for a head and a white sheet of plastic similar to what what comes from a dry cleaner.

I thought that thing was going to be flying around at my command. Yeah I know, what can you expect for a $1.25. But hey I was an 8 year old kid with a big imagination and I had to save up my allowance, maybe even collect some old empty coke bottles to get that money. What a disappointment.

Thanks again for going to the trouble to post those ads. They were really cool to see again after all these years.
